FACM in FOX.

FOX Platform is the first reference implementation of the FOX Agency Cognition Model (FACM). FACM operates as the governing agency-cognition sub-loop inside the canonical Sigmund mission cycle. It gives FOX an explicit model of intention, available agency, predicted consequence, observed reality, discrepancy and evidence-backed revision.

Implementation Architecture

Sigmund remains the mission loop. FACM governs cognition within it.

Sigmund remains authoritative for mission lifecycle. FACM maintains the self/world/mission model, projects the consequences of available agency, compares prediction with observed reality and revises cognition from evidence.

01 · MODEL

Explicit self/world/mission state

FACM maintains a bounded representation of FOX, its mission, available agency, constraints, authority and relevant world state.

02 · PROJECT

Agency before execution

FOX can represent selected agency and the state it predicts should follow before consequential execution occurs.

03 · COMPARE

Goal error is not prediction error

FACM separately evaluates whether the goal was achieved and whether FOX correctly predicted the consequence of its agency.

04 · REVISE

Evidence changes the next cognitive state

Observation and discrepancy feed the next model, producing recursive cognition instead of disconnected actions.

Governed Agency

Cognition does not create authority.

FACM can model, predict, compare, classify and revise. It cannot grant itself permission, independently execute, silently rewrite governing values or decide the canonical mission lifecycle.

FOX authority boundary:
Cognition proposes and evaluates agency. Authorized execution remains governed by FOX mission, security, permission and execution authorities.
MISSION

Sigmund remains canonical

FACM informs the mission cycle; it does not replace lifecycle authority.

EXECUTION

Action remains independently governed

Predicted agency and authorized execution remain separate. A cognitive recommendation is not an execution grant.

AI

Provider-neutral cognition

FACM does not depend on a particular provider or LLM. AI can contribute cognition without owning canonical FACM state.

NO AI

A complete governed mode

FOX can maintain the same cognition contract through deterministic estimation, planning, comparison and revision.

Cognition Outcome

The result must reach the user.

FOX can disseminate the canonical cognition outcome through an AI/persona interface or a deterministic presentation layer without exposing private internal reasoning.

Rapid Modular Web published the mathematical FACM architecture and robotics experimental framework for independent technical evaluation. FOX Platform provides the first reference software implementation.
